This picture was probably taken in ‘88 when he and his partner Scrap Lover were back-up dancers for Big Daddy Kane, but twenty-two years later, Scoob Lover aka Johnny Famous still rocks the party hard (in addition to having rocked my birthday three years ago with Kane). Here’s his newest and truest produced by Eric Sermon. Enjoy.
On Friday night, I stopped by Puffy’s own Daddy’s House Studios to check in with my good friend Heavy D. while he records his new album. Needless to say, Hev is a Hip Hop legend, but also a true genuine great guy who I love to be around. His stories, humor, and guidance are priceless. After a fun listening and hook-writing session, O’Neal McKnight and Mel Debarge stopped by as well. Of course, D-Nice was there to capture it all. P.S. Twenty-Four years after his debut album, the overweight lover has not lost his touch. Stay tuned for the music…
No, silver and black sequin leopard print handbags are not practical, but guys shouldn’t buy girls practical things. I want to buy a girl this bag and rock a matching tuxedo shirt.
Cee-lo has does it again with the first single from his forthcoming album “Ladykiller.” He really reminds me of Jackie Wilson now. Listen and love. Full video coming soon but enjoy the lyrics in the meantime.
From Denise Rich’s yacht with Ivanka Trump to VIP Room with Dennis Rodman, the party people partied in St. Tropez like nowhere else in the world. Until next year…

The Kingpins
If you would have told me when I was a teenager that I’d be deejaying Funkmaster Flex’s birthday, I would have called you crazy. Growing up, Flex was the epitome. I studied him on the radio. I studied him in the clubs. When I did NV on Wednesdays with him many moons ago, it was surreal. The kingpin…forever. His birthday celebration hosted by Jessica Rosenblum at Goldbar on Tuesday, August 3rd, was Hip Hop heaven as you can see by the pics. When Premo comes to say what’s up in the deejay booth, it’s always legendary.
Last Saturday on August 7, 2010, Jerry Rice was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. Each inductee celebrated in their own private tent on the hall of fame grounds in Canton, Ohio. While Biz Markie and Bell Biv Devoe rocked in Emmitt Smith’s tent, John Legend and I rocked next door in Jerry’s. When Jerry tore up the dance floor to Too Short’s “Blow The Whistle,” we knew the party was going all night.
